My name is Tim Walz, a 34-year-old, native Minnesotan who currently resides in the St. Paul area (Twin Cities). Everyone is always shocked to discover that my background does not include ANY art classes. In fact, I did not begin painting until after graduating from college in 1996. My interest in impressionist art was sparked when I first visited the Chicago Institute of Arts, which hosts a wonderful Monet exhibit, among many other great works. Tim at the Chicago Institute of Arts After returning to the Twin Cities I found myself compelled to re-create one of Monet's works for the sole purpose of hanging it on my wall. It was a huge improvement from the prints I had previously displayed and my friends agreed.
